The Magic behind it
Smart film is a type of window film that can switch between transparent and opaque states; it works through a process called electrochromism. This process involves applying a voltage to the film, which causes its molecules to align and allows light to pass through. In its natural state, the film is composed of randomly oriented molecules that scatter light, making it opaque. However, when a voltage is applied to the film, it creates an electric field that aligns the molecules in a specific direction; this realignment allows light to pass through the film, making it transparent.
